Attendance HUB Pilot
26/05/2022 – For those who have signed up to the pilot, our attendance resources are now available. Please click here to access them. (You will need your password which will be provided by NET).
Northern Education Trust is piloting a free programme of attendance support for schools. The training will be led by senior leaders from North Shore Academy (graded outstanding in all categories by Ofsted, having risen from requires improvement in only 3 years). North Shore Academy is located in one of the most deprived areas of the country, with 65% of its students attracting pupil premium.
As part of this programme, we will share their strategies and resources for improving attendance. The pilot is aimed at secondary schools with a similar context and challenges to North Shore. If successful, this approach may be extended to other phases and school types in future.
Schools participating in the pilot will have access to a range of training videos explaining our attendance processes and systems in detail. In return, pilot schools will need to commit to revisit and revise the systems and protocols they have in place for managing attendance, drawing on the lessons from North Shore. Participating schools will also be expected to join half termly review meetings until the end of next academic year to discuss progress and if any changes need to be made.
To register to participate in this pilot, please email [email protected] indicating that your leadership team can commit to the level of engagement, and outlining in no more than 150 words your reasons for wanting to participate. Please include the name of your school, the senior leader[s] who will be joining the programme, and your school’s URN. Closing date – midnight on 6 April.
The initial pilot of this approach is intended to support up to 100 schools. If demand exceeds that level, applications may be prioritised by the 150 word statements submitted.
