On the 29^th November 2023, Northern Education Trust Kirk Balk Academy were proud to host the Teach First Yorkshire and Humber Round Table – a question and answer session with Teach First CEO, Russell Hobby CBE.

Teach First is an educational charity and the UK’s largest teacher training provider. Since 2003, Teach First have trained endless talented teachers and senior leaders and improved the life chances and choices of over two million children.

Chief Executives, Headteachers and Senior Leadership Team members of various multi-academy trusts and schools within Yorkshire and Humber were invited to take part in a broad education-based discussion. After recently attending Labour and Conservative party conferences, Russell was keen to bring some of that regional knowledge to the representatives in attendance.

The session was led by the attendees, having the opportunity to ask Russell any questions or highlight any challenges and concerns they had relating to the education sector. Northern Education Trust representatives found the session to be incredibly insightful and a fantastic networking opportunity to connect and share ideas with partner schools and trusts.

Teach First were delighted with Kirk Balk’s hospitality, stating that ‘nothing was too much trouble, the set up of the venue was exceptional and professional and we would be delighted for Kirk Balk to host similar events in the future’.
