The National Cyber Security Centre, part of Government Communications Headquarters, has launched CyberSprinters, a fun and educational initiative aimed at 7-11 year olds. CyberSprinters is a free, online game that aims to teach young children how to stay safe online in an interactive, comprehensible way.

Children are growing up in an increasingly digital world, exposing them to both the opportunities and the risks of the internet. Learning how to stay safe online is a vital skill for our young students to have and CyberSprinters is a great way for them to be engaged and understand. From learning what makes a strong password to whether they should accept a photo from an unknown source via Bluetooth, CyberSprinters empowers young children to make smart decisions about staying secure online in the best way possible.

Within the game, the students take on the role of a cyber sprinter, racing against their lowering battery to collect cyberspheres and points. By correctly answering cyber safety questions, students can collect padlocks and boost their power. However, if they run into a battery-draining cybervillain, students face a mini game that provides an internet safety lesson which restores their battery.

CyberSprinters is a fantastic way for Primary Academy students to be fully equipped with skills that will keep them safe and secure online in a fun way.
