Norton Primary Academy, sponsored by Northern Education Trust, held its annual summer fayre on 27 June 2019. After a week of very unseasonal weather, thankfully it changed just in time, and the sun beamed down on the pupils and their families, for a very enjoyable afternoon.

As well as the ever-popular cake stalls, raffles and games to play, the children made a bee-line for the inflatable slide and the donkey rides. The most popular event of the day was the chance to throw a soaking wet sponge at a teacher in the stocks. Year 4 teacher James Rennie was the brave volunteer, and was perhaps the most pleased person of the afternoon to have the sun shining, as he ended up soaked through from the surprisingly good aims of the enthusiastic participants!

Teaching Assistants Nicola Celik and Melanie Bullock organised the afternoon, and were very pleased with the attendance. A magnificent total of £1,200 was raised, and the academy will be making a donation to The Sick Children’s Trust, which is the nominated charity of Northern Education Trust this year.
